Attitude, The Hidden Weapon
This is a little long as I used bigger print. It is simply written, and easy to read. I hope you will take time to read it all, as it effects every human being on earth. Maybe it has something that will be a blessing to you.
I can remember over the years teaching our son that he had Angels watching over him.
He was told that no matter what evils there were in the world, he was protected, so he
did not have a cause to carry a weapon.
The unseen weapon.
Each of us have a weapon in our possession at all times. Most times we are not aware of it, yet we use it many times, and it is just as deadly as the most powerful weapon there is.
With it we can hurt so deeply that a person may never recover. It is used
thoughtlessly, and without restrain, and to use it is so automatic that most never think
about it. It has power to kill a persons will power, their very reason to exist, or it can be
used as a tool to do restoration work and to do much good.
It seems like the tongue has a mind of its own.
We are warned in the scriptures that we must rule our tongues. That is one tool that
attitudes uses. We are told it is like an uncontrolled fire that destroys. It destroys the one
that receives it and the one that does it. We can make others heartsick with our words.
We also can encourage, lift up, and give hope to others with them. The loudness it is
spoken in, and the way it is said. The expression on our faces, and even the our body
english says it all. It can also be shurgs of shoulders, facial expressions, body english
that says you are not worth listening to, being in the presence of or worthy of my time
or consideration. All of these are forms of communications.
A little loving can go a long ways.
We are told if we have our Fathers Spirit dwelling in us, that love will rule our hearts.
Love is also respect for another person. Their feelings, how you respond to them, treat
them, help them just a general attitude toward them. There is never an excuse to be
disrespectful to another person. It is directly telling them they are of little worth in your
eyes. There is a lot said in the scriptures about this. Respecting parents, husband and
wives respecting each other. How one treats an employee, or the employee treats the
boss. We see in all these if they are a child of our Father that we are to do unto them
as we would do until the Master Yahshua. Now that covers a lot of territory.
Love has no scales.
Love does not have the choice of weighing worthiness. It at all times is to behave
becomingly as one of our Fathers children. We are to honor other children above
ourselves. Romans 12:10 shows us to be devoted to one another in brotherly love,
Honor one another above yourselves.Yet we see in all walks of life, people lashing out
at each other with words, or actions that of themselves are like a cat of nine tails,
digging into the heart, and cutting deep. Why? Selfishness, wanting to vent their own
raw human fleshly feelings. Not having self control? Letting the desire to hurt another
person be stronger than love for them?
It is hard to bless someone who hurts you.
In Matt: we see that if someone does something to us we should bless them. If they
truly have done something to us, then let the Father take it over. I use to wonder, how
can I bless someone when the Father said not to bless a person in their sins. Then slowly I
saw that to bless them would be to ask a blessing on them that what ever problem
they are having would be replaced with what would be pleasing to the Father. I saw too that
our Father is more concerned over what our attitude could to to us than what was
done to us. Attitudes can reach down into the pit of hell and draw up fire that never can
be put out, no matter how many 'I am sorry's' one says. So our Father wants us to not give the adversary that chance to use us. Also if His Spirit is in us, we will be patient even in the most trying situation.
So, who is looking anyway?
No matter what happens to us, ouf Heavenly Father is looking, and will deal with it. How we act, treat or feel about others can hurt us, or bring blessings to us. We too can put
stumbling blocks in front of others. They may be really trying to do our Fathers will in
life. Yet by how we act, we can cause them in a split second to fall from walking in the
Spirit, to walking in the flesh. We are warned about putting stumbling blocks before the
blind. We can hit someone blind side by our actions. It boils down to respecting another
person, holding ones tongue, or physical actions in check so as to not hinder them in
their walk with the Father, by taunting them to act in a way unbecoming a child of of our Father.
So who gets hurt anyway?
Anger has a power all of its own. It can destroy the one angry, and the on it is directed
at. Anger can be a form of hate. Hate is murder according to our Father if directed toward
someone. We see so much of this in the world today. Wars are fought because
someone displeased another person, thought differently than them, believed different,
had something they wanted, on and on. In Hebrews 12:15 we see we are to
look diligently, or carefully least anyone fail of the favor of the Father, lest any root of
bitterness spring up trouble you and there by many be defiled.
It doesn't take but a second for bitterness to spring up. What a terrible price to pay for
it. Something that someone says, or does, or maybe does not do on purpose of
innocently, in a split second the tongue flares up like an uncontrolled fire. Burning
deep into the heart of another person. They are left charred, as if it were a real fire that
did it. The fire going on, as if nothing happened to something else, so do people act as if
nothing had ever happened. Bitterness defiles us. It leaves ashes in the soul.
A soft answer, and with Him it is possible.
Our Father has so much love toward us, that His own Son came down here to live as
mankind. He knows every human emotion we can have. He showed us the way. They
way was Himself. He shows us even when one is putting us to death, emotionally,
mentally, physically, to still speak softly. A soft answer can turn away wrath. Oh it is
hard to do this. That old human nature is there to react quicker than a blink of an eye.
He showed us He wanted us to live together in harmony. Rom 12:14,17-18.
Not every action, way, or word another person says is always pleasing to us. None of
us are perfect. Even so we should not criticize, put down that person, or act in a way
that causes them pain by how we act toward them or talk.
How do others see us?
We are children of the Father, yet we are to not act as uncontrolled children. In our lives we
are always going to have trouble holding back feelings. Yet we should always
remember that each of us are being looked at as our Fathers child. People see how
we live up to the reputation of being His kid. Impressions stay. Our Father does not stay with
us if we hurt others, not do others want to stay with us.
We can do it with His help.
In Hebrews 13:14.
Follow peace, with all mankind, and righteousness, without this no person will see the Heavenly Father.
This alone should be reason enough for each of us to walk in love toward others. Love
can not come on our own. It is a gift from our Father. We do not read the scriptures, or
pray to gain favor with our Father for it. Those things come as as a result of our love
for Him. We love Him deeply and this love for others comes.
So what is the price?
The price of bitterness, uncontrolled emotions is like selling our birthright, just like
Esau did for a bowl of soup. For the moment it was satisfying, yet in the long run the
penalty lasted a life time.
So next time we want to let the flesh have it's way in anger, bitterness, ask ourself is it
worth the price it cost us? Is it worth what it does to us, or the person it is done to.
Conclusion
We are told at memorial time to examine ourselves as to if we are worthy to part take
of the symbols that mean a life was given for our sins. Each day we should ask our
selves if we are worth of the sacrifice He made for us, this day to be a child of our
Father.
